Earning by the Sea Blogger Q&A

Who is Earning by the Sea?

Katy from Katykicker has kindly tagged me in a Blogger Q&A .

It’s the first post of this type on Earning by the Sea so I hope you enjoy it!

When was the last time you cried?

It was Mother’s day..twice.

Is that a strange reaction to an incredibly happy celebration?

Probably.

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

Yes!

I have a face that makes strangers remark “smile, it might never happen” but if people can get past that I think I’m a good friend to have.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Always.

I didn’t realise until recently that sarcasm can be seen as quite negative.

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

I think I probably notice their face first, not for any deep reason.

Scary movie or happy endings?

I’ve always loved a good rom-com.

Social media has ruined my attention span and lately if it’s longer than an insta-story I lose interest, so I really struggle to watch an entire film.

Favourite smells?

My child’s hair! Does anyone else randomly start smelling their children when they are asleep?

Coffee.

Cut grass.

What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?

I’m not very well travelled at all. Cyprus is probably the furthest from home I’ve ever been.

Do you have any special talents?

I’m pretty good at macrame if that counts?

I also might be a little bit psychic!

I had a vivid dream when I was pregnant that I was walking along Canterbury High Street with my little girl and I could see us both from behind.

My future daughter appeared to be around three years old and had beautiful long curly hair.

When Willow’s hair grew long and curly from nowhere I came to the obvious conclusion that I have untapped psychic abilities.

It really did look like her though!

Where were you born?

Margate.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy reading, walking the dog, yoga and mediation.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a teacher at one point, and then a veterinarian. I have ended up with a houseful of rescued animals so the latter would have been really useful!

How many countries have you been to?

I think maybe five. I really hope to show Willow more of the world than I have seen.

What was your favourite/worst subject in School?

My favourite was English, I loved writing and my teacher was really supportive. My worst was P.E.

What is your Favourite drink?

My favourite drink is probably coffee. I’m also quite partial to a glass of wine in the evenings.

What would you (or have you) named your children?

My daughter is named Willow.

I was six months pregnant and at a boot fair sourcing stock to sell on eBay I remember it was a really scorching hot day and I had too much to carry, so I was walking back to the car and this beautiful little girl ran passed and her Mum called her “Willow” and I thought yes that’s her name.

Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?

Okay, my guilty secret is watching Jeffree Star makeup tutorials.

I also really enjoy Emma Drew’s YouTube channel. Emma has some great Poundland hauls which I really enjoy.

How many Boyfriends have you had?

I think it’s 5.

Favourite memory from childhood?

Oh there is so many!

I think my favourite was probably the day my Dad bought me my first pony.

My desperation to own a pony was so great that at one point I tried to buy myself a cow because they were cheaper than ponies.

I begged everyday for more than five years until eventually my parents gave in.

How would you describe your fashion sense?

I buy a lot of my clothes from charity shops or boot fairs so it’s quite thrifty and often a few years out of date.

Tell us one of your bad habits!

One of my bad habits is drinking too much coffee.

I have only recently started to enjoy a cup of tea and it’s really helped me to cut back on the coffee but I still drink more than I should most days.

I’m tagging Tightwad Mama, Thrifty Mumma Thrifty Bubba and Joleisa to take part in this next. I can't wait to read their posts!
